Ever wondered, “When is the best time to send an email?” Turns out, when may not be as important as understanding where someone is most likely to read your message.
ReadWriteWeb recently published an Infographic that demonstrates the changes in email consumption habits over the past year. Between January and June of 2011, email views on mobile devices increased by 150%!
What does that mean for you? If you’re sending emails that require an action, make sure that you’re making it as easy as possible for the recipient to reply to your “ask.” Want someone to read your email and send you their well-thought-out opinion? Sending a file as an attachment? Or is it a quick question that can be answered in a short paragraph?
Just because someone has access to their email at any time doesn’t mean that “at any time” is the best time to send it. If you know that someone needs to be at their desk to best process your email, send it during normal business hours – you’ll be much more likely to get the response you need.
